It seems there are many strictly "make up" cakes being entered into the contest. Although make up is considered fashion, it CANNOT be the main focus of the cake. It can be on the cake as a…Continue

I cannot take credit for this recipe. Given to me by our Administrator/Host of our Hamilton chapter Cake Club through: Canadian Cake Decorators Guild
I do believe she received it from another Adminstrator Mark Degroseilliers of Montreal South Shore.
I will put Canadian/US measurements and try my best for European conversion
2 cups/480 ml icing/confectioners sugar
1/2 cup/120 ml cornstarch/cornflower
1 tblsp/15 ml tylose powder
4-5…

I went on a search for a recipe for a Pink Lemonade Cake. Found several....some recipes from doctored cake mixes.....some from scratch. Made several as a trial run for the engagement cake I just made. Decided I liked the taste from "scratch" the best. Was well received and eaten at the party...so I am guessing the recipe was a winner.
Here is the recipe I came up with. Give it a try. I hope you will like it
Ingrdients:
2 cups/280 ml all purpose flour
2 tsp/10…

Debbie Smith said… Hey June, I'm originally from Zimbabwe, but when the trouble started back there in 2000 we left on a "working holiday" to the UK, ended up being 9 years long!! That's where I got into cakes fully as I had 2 children and decided to work from home. I had just got busy and well know in my town when we left.......but we had, had enough there......too cold......and decided it was time to move on and immigrated to Australia and loving it!! Thanks chat again soon.......
Debbie Smith said… Thanks for your lovely comment June, I too am self taught it's amazing what the internet can teach you!!! I started making cakes from home a while back, when I had my kids 10 years ago, but then I immigrated to Australia and its a pain to get a licence here and all that jazz to be able to do it from home, so I went back to doing administration, a few cakes on the side.....boring!! But we have since relocate within Australia and I got a job with a little cake company, so I'm loving being creative again. I have also recently completed my Certificate III Pastry Chef so I'm now "qualified" to make cakes, but don't feel it as I have taught it all to myself, never had any formal training! The lady I'm working for does not know much, in fact I have been teaching her things, but that's ok all good!! Thanks again for your lovely comments I really appreciate it.......
M. Kimble said… Thanks! I am self taught. I love to do it. More of a hobby really. I love your coral gum paste rose!! So pretty! Thanks again for the help on set up!
M. Kimble said… Thank you very much June! I am new here and not sure how to name them. I went back and tagged them, is that the same? Thank you for your help. :)
Rhea koch said… Hi June, thank you for your comments and compliments. I uploaded the images from my ipad and struggled to name them, is there any way I can edit the image names now?
