"Satin ice is the best. I do not like any type of wilton fondant or gumpaste. you have to work quickly with all of them but satin ice is more forgiving and if you maybe add a little shortening it will help with cracking."

"I love Satin Ice Gumpaste, it's cheaper than Wilton too! If I need it to not dry out as fast, I too mix it with fondant. Maybe you could try taking your fondant that you've turned into gumpaste already, and mix it 50/50 with regular…"

Hello fellow decorators! I need your help please? I use gum-tex in my fondant to make gumpaste but I have issues with keeping it soft enough to roll, cut, then shape. I tried putting less sugar into the fondant thinking it was just too dry, but then it's too soft and won't hold it's shape or it gets too sticky! Please help! Thank you in advance :o)See More

First of all, thank you so much for your kind words. Ok, to make the monkey i just traced the image with an x-acto nife, but just the body, face and ears. I made the hands, feet, mouth, eyes, cheeks and tail by hand. I also traced the giraffe body and made the rest by hand, i meant the tail, the dots on the body (for this i used the wilton tips # 9 and 7), the eyes, mouth, cheeks, the feet and those little things they have on the head. And last but not least the tiger, for this one i used just cutters, with a circle cutter i made the head and the body (different sizes) in an almond shape. For the ears i used the littler petal cutters from the wilton flower set and for the tail and feet a made a snake and cutted in peaces and painted the stripes with the wilton markers. hope this info help you. Can't way to see how the cake turns out. Good luck.
