4 tier dummy for a local competition. I did not do well. Ran right out of time, as I had a cruise in the middle of my prep time (not smart).

All fondant, gumpaste and royal icing.

Me either! That's why I asked :)  And it's virtually impossible to get a vibrant red or dark enough black using gel or powder colors!

Thanks, Diane!  I thought yours was gorgeous!  If I remember correctly I used a 0 tip for my strings.  The fondant was pre-colored red Fondarific.  I can't stand to color red and black...too messy!

Hi Stacie, I didn't know you were on CWB! You did a wonderful job on your cake! I swear, we are our own worst critics, aren't we?! Don't be so hard on yourself :)  I loved your cake when I saw it in ACD!! Great job! What tip did you use for your drop strings? I can imagine how difficult that was to paint them!! Did you airbrush the red or color the fondant?
