And what about sheet cakes? Maybe it is a regional thing, but we are still celebrating with a big ole slab of cakey goodness here!

Yes, I have done some for birthdays, and I think it would be good to sort of "rescue" the sheet cake from the bad reputation it may have gotten as just a product of mass-produced big-box-grocery stores. Let's put some care and decorating into those babies! :) It ain't all sprinkles and curly ribbon!

I had a brainstorm that I'm going to try soon that is the kind of thing I started this group for. I'm going to get out one of my retro Wilton books and do some of the things like overpiping and other techniques that have sort of fallen out of fashion but do them with contemporary colors like black and pink, brown & turquoise, lime green, etc. and maybe stuff like paisleys and crazy daisies & just see what it comes out looking like. I challenge Marta & anybody else who sees this to join in and post photos! Bunny

Hi All, I have been to Wilton classes but still not good at piping, hope to learn from you. Any easy methods for autumn leaves, I have a cake to make for next weekend (CanadianThanksgiving). Anne

I did some on the autumn cake I have a picture posted here where I just did leaf shapes outlined with No. 3 tip, then filled in with the star tip, I can't remember which one but not too big a one.

You could also try leaf tips for single leaves, or even put 3 or 5 together in a triangular formation, with a stem piped at the base, for a more complex leaf -- does this make sense? If I could draw it I could explain better. Hope this helps!
