She listed rapunzel the lizard Dora pony, strawberry shortcake, shrek pussnboots, Spongebob, its quit the mixture she wants characters on each tier. Should I charge 5$ per character?

I'd love toknow the answer to this one too. Though $5/character seems rather low to me. How big were planning on making the figurines?

It depends how big the figurines. Small ones start $15.00 and up. $5.00 you are cheating yourself.

yes $5. is very low ,$8-$10 &  up ! they  may not take a lot of gumpaste! ? but they do take colors ! and dust ! depending on the size ! but they do take time ! _she is asking for a lot for $200. ? 8 of them WOW , your, doing allthis work andsheonlywants to spend $200. shegets  a small  cake i guess ?

$ 5.00 is much too low you're cheating yourself. I would say $10.00 to $15.00, A lot of time goes into what you do., I agree she is asking alot for $200.00

Adrian , thanks for agreeing with me , i was hoping some 1 would see what i was thinking ! i dont know how she could fit all them on that mini cake she wants to pay for ,lol

You're funny. :) Yeah seriously - how can you fit 9 figures on a 2", 4",6" 3tier cake. Maybe she wants thumbnail sized images. :) But then - isn't miniaturisation even more expensive?

i think 5dollars isnt enough thats just my opinion

When we calculate the price of cakes we add $20 for a figure - they always take more time than baking the cake or even covering it in fondant.  If their budget is up to $200 say you can put 1 or 2 figures or that you will decorate with store bought plastic figures if they want more.

Think so too! She should buy the figurines! She could also decorate the cake in buttercream icing only and make 2Ds fondant figurines or use the toy figurines for that price

yup ! so rite toys @the $1. store,  lol

Still work with the client budget and plus she said she is still new. This is a great learning experience for her. When another client comes along with a budget she will know how to make it work for her and not lose money and time. We all been there, especially me! Good luck and can't wait to see how the cake turn out
