Thank you Bonnie. She didn't know she getting a cake. It was a surprise. She was very happy w/it & the thought. Don't know if you're asking about the leaves on the top or around the bottom. They're piped in alternating layers so I guess they're holding themselves up (?) and maybe the angle I was piping them at (?) My buttercream was a little too stiff at first & when I started piping them I wasn't happy w/the way they looked so I took off what I had piped, thinned my buttercream a little, & started over again. They're still not as perfect as I would have liked them to be. My piping skills were never that good to begin with but what I do have is kinda rusty.

Lucky sis-in-law!  Beautiful cake!  And so nice & fancy too!  How did you get your leaves to stay up??

Thank you so much Betty & Sandra. I wish I could take credit for it being an original design Sandra but I got the ideas from a couple of Wilton tutorials I found. Now combining them, I can take credit for that :)

This is a breathtaking design Denise!  Everything is so original, clean and beautiful from the cake board (which I love!) to the tip of the topper.  Gorgeous!

I just noticed my flower chipped in another spot :'( On the plus side, it did take a while to see it so it can't be that noticeable.

Thank you so much Goreti, June, & Inoka. A really big "!!THANK YOU!!" June for the royal icing tip. Just finished whipping up a small batch b/c flower was about to take another dive. Doing much, much better now :)
