thank you becky, yes i agree, i tried this onlay several times before i put it on the cake. im practicing with the others on my board.

First couple of times I used onlays it was hard - but I find that each time I use them it gets a little better. Your cake turned out beautiful and love the original design!

yes i noticed that some onlays are easier, i wanted to use the filigree but that is almost impossible to use, way too much time, i had to finish so i use this one instead.  i watched that video, used the gumpaste and rolled out to a number one on the pasta machine, it was a little better. i think i have six onlays, i will use them, except for the filigree one.

I won a Marvellous Mould onlay at my cake club. I've practiced on a dummy, but it was a royal pain!! Video makes it look soooo easy peasy. Not!! I've never done on a real cake cause I didn't want the hassle. It didn't cost me anything, so I'm not concerned it's sitting in a drawer not being used..

thnx june,my first time using onlays, that was a trip, onlays just isnt that easy to me.  Very time consumming.
