I made this cake for my son's 12th birthday party. I sculpted the Indominous Rex from rice crispy treats and covered it with modeling chocolate with some fondant accents. The "skeleton" is primarily pvc pipe, and I used a foam cone for the base structure of the head. The enclosure is pieces of cake board hot glued to hardboard uprights. I made marble cake and covered it with my homemade buttercream. I wanted to do all kinds of trees and plants out of fondant and gumpaste but unfortunately just ran out of time. He loved it, though, and that's what matters to me. I just wish that he hadn't had so much fun destroying it when the party was over, lol!
