Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

This weekend my husband and I will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. I was not planning on making a cake but decided on Tuesday that I was going. Had no design in mind but knew that I wanted to try making a gumpaste cake stand and figured this would be the perfect opportunity. Now for the best part. I forget to place dowels underneath the 4 in. I have never forgotten to dowel until now. Too much on my mind I guess. Decided to take a picture before I remove so can I place dowel. Ughhh Now that I look at the cake, doesn't really look like a summer cake but I went with Jade & coral ( at least my interpretation of those colors) to represent the 35th anniversary.

Thanks everyone.  Funny thing is that after I covered the cake in fondant I still didn't know what I was going to do.  Then I looked at the cake stand and the rest is history.  Then I didn't like the color of the ruffles or whatever you want to call on top with the green.  So I decided to add some gold to them too.  Then decided to sponge some green & gold on the fondant.  One thing just led to another.  lol
