3 layer 6" cake. Bottom layer is a rich dark chocolate with chocolate chips, middle layer is German chocolate, and the top layer is an off white vanilla. Starting at the bottom, we have dark chocolate fudge BC, and moving up the cake you will find a lighter shade of chocolate, and topped with a white vanilla/almond BC, The flower in the center is the middle layer's chocolate BC. All was done using a 1M tip to make a star flower pattern. The cake layers, and the frosting layers are meant to match, will find out when I cut it.

This was the more traditional dessert that I had yesterday, again, hubby doesn't do desserts!  Strawberry banana coconut cream pudding, with a few vanilla wafers thrown in. {:o)  And, yes, I ate it all myself!  Wheeee!

Awww shucks... Thanks Sandra.  Just have your BC a little on the stiff side, and use a 1M tip to pipe a flower like the star tip does.  Just squeeze & pull.  Does give a lovely ruffled look, doesn't it?! lol

Bonnie, these cakes are BEE-U-T-FUL!  Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this is buttercream!  Looks just like the ruffles I did with fondant.  I know you explained, but I can't get my head around how you did these :o(  They sound so yummy, too!  You know, lady, you keep your talents under a basket too much.  It seems you can do anything!

Thanks everyone!  And white chocolate BC sounds perfect!  Still haven't decided how to decorate the 3rd cake, hope it gets done before it goes bad! lol  I have nothing tall enough to cover these guys with, and they dry out pretty quick in the fridge.  Any ideas??  I did cut the first one for dessert tonight, but the cake was so tall that the slice had to be a slim one, so nothing to show just yet.   Remember that hubby does NOT eat cake!  He just tells me how nice it looks!   lol   Will get a pic after I cut out another slice! lol

Morning Goreti & Katy!   Thanks to you both.  I saw this somewhere on the internet, and thought, 'That is so cute', then went on to other things.  When doing this I started to use other colors, but then decided I liked  it that the BC matched the cake layers.  I am not much on coloring with food dies, unless I must for one of the kiddies, because it ends up on the teeth, lips, & tongue!    And clothes, when they are wiping off their little hands!  Chocolate does not!  Then I thought I might do a choc-white-choc, or vice versa, but wanted to do all three first.  Then I would have ended up with only a cake & a snack, instead of 3 cakes! lol
