Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Made these cupcakes this morning with quick gumpaste flowers. Flowers weren't 100% dry when I put them on, but I'm taking over in less 20 min.
Recipient, Marie, just got out of hospital a few days ago from a fairly serious operation.
It's also Marie's birthday today, and a mutual friend phoned very late last night to see we could pop over for a visit & if I could make a small cake. This to cheer Marie up and for her birthday. Said I would do my best. We've had humid weather with severe thunderstorms...not good for me or decorating. Woke up with a bad migraine...oh yuk...took meds...back to bed. So feeling crummy....wasn't up to the cake & rolling fondant thing. Hence the quick cuppies. Marie's family apparently never acknowledges her birthday....so I'm sure she will be pleased with the little treat.... :o)

Well, June and Goreti, you have just made my day!  Now, every time I get a headache, I will panic because it might turn into a migraine.  June, be sure and tell Marie that all the caking friends send her a very happy birthday!  Any friend of yours is a friend of mine :o)

Sandra, I was hoping the same thing would happen with my blood pressure but unfortunately it did not.  I used to have low blood pressure until approx 15 yrs ago.  This was around the time I started that lovely job so I thought once I left it would take care of that.  It was not to be.

Yes Sandra I was most disappointed. I've been retired 3 yrs., without hardly getting any migraines. Like Goreti, they have been retuning more often and in intensity.

Oh ))^$$@#$&*(*()*(_, June! Don't tell me they may return! The sinus headaches are bad enough :o( Hope you are feeling better. Goreti, I mysteriously developed high blood pressure (where I had previously always had LOW blood pressure) the last year I worked. Low and behold, one week after retirement, the blood pressure was back to, and I quote the nurse, that of a teenager. The work place seems, generally, to be a very unwholesome environment these days.

No one called her to wish her a Happy Birthday? That is so sad. Speaking of migraines, this year has been terrible for me too. After I left that darling (not) job at the phone company, they decreased in frequency. For some reason, this year has been horrible. Not only in frequency but also in intensity. I think it's due to allergies cause most start as a sinus headache.

Thanks guys...your always too kind. Yes, even tho I felt totally crummy...kept my mind off the pain. It was soooo worth it. NO one from her family called her to wish her happy birthday. Terrible. She was just thrilled...or as Marie put it....tickled pink!!
Sandra. My migraines literally stopped when I went through menopause & increased my magnesium intake. I still got the occasional one with the weather. But over the last 6 months or so, for some reason, they have started again, more frequently. Stinks!!
