I made this for my 7 year old nephew who had the WAGR syndrome and has just reached the age to be safe from a recurring wilms tumour which could have taken his life if he had got it again before he was 7, so we had a big celebration last night that he is totally in remission and has reached the milestone in his life !!!!!!!

Thank you ladies but I'm glad its over and  I'm in fact very tired from it as I  was trying to fit it in with other cake orders that I  had which put the stress on but I was very pleased with the final result, I had a vision and I believe I created it !!

Wow Deborah

What a amazing job. So glad your nephew has reached that wonderful place of remission.  I am not surprised that this went over big!  What a touching gesture.  :o)

Thanks Deborah.  I really wasn't sure what I wanted to know, but you have covered everything.  What a Herculean labour and I'm so impressed.  You sure did create a Disney Theme.  This reminds me of a very large picture of Disney that my dentist has on the ceiling of his surgery, so the kids have something to take their mind off what's going on (I'm sure it works for a lot of adults too!).

I started by creating all the large items in rice crispy treats as the time i needed to complete the cake alone was extreme, then i worked on icing all the items to look as good as I could get them, and I used dowels drilled into the board to hold the weight of the jungle junctions, smoothie bar roof to enable me to keep it standing as it kept trying to go over, the hills were created from 8, 14 x 10 Madeira sponges as the cake was for children, laced with jam and buttercream, my nephew is also almost blind but can just about see if he comes close up but he is in love with all things Disney and obviously due to his ill health has spent a lot of time at the Disney theme parks so when I asked my sister what he wanted she gave me a whole list of what to choose from so I decided to create a mini disney world for him, because I knew this would be perfect for him, it took me 3 solid days just to cover the board with fondant and create the vision that I had. but I enjoyed doing it and it went down at the party with a bang and everyone loved it, the trees and little characters are all made with fondant and modelling paste :)
