Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi everyone,

I just made 4th of July pop cakes and i had a blast!

it's really easy to make them actually. Here's what I did:
1. I used the push pops themselves as a mold to cut the cupcakes (or cake)
2. Then I put red & blue crystals from Cakemate (found at Stater Bros.)
3. Repeat until full and then add frosting

oh and here's the site where i got the push pops http://www.lagunawholesale.com/category.jhtm?cid=254

let me know what you think :)

These Rock. My husband and kids loved them! (all 6 are over 13!) So these are definitely not just for little ones!!!

The first time I tried, the cake stuck to the sides and squished up.

I put a SMALL amount of non-stick spray in each before loading them up. Kept the cake from squishing as they were pushed up.....hot + moist cake + frosting= goo :o(
