Candle Lights Learn Scroll Piping

I have been wanting to create a tutorial on the art of scroll piping with royal icing. It is easier to learn on a sugar cookie prior to an entire cake, piping an entire cake can take hours (even days depending on design and layers), while a cookie is not as time consuming.  The candle light cookie was inspired by Eddie Spence’s book The Art of Royal Icing: A…

Wet On Wet Royal Icing Poinsettia Tutorial

I wanted to share a quick royal icing technique, wet on wet. Wet on wet  is a method of using a royal icing constancy of 10-12 seconds to top outline, coat, and decorate your cookies  in a few minutes. For the poinsettia cookie above it literally took me 3.5 minutes to outline, cover, and decorate. Once the wet on wet method was finished I allowed the sugar…

Learn How to Create A Gumpaste Bows on Gluten Free Sugar Cookies Card

I was asked by a friend if I could bake him a batch of gluten free sugar cookies. “In your Easter Bonnet with all The Frills Upon it”

I have had a love for Judy Garland since I was a little girl; my father introduced me to The Wizard of Oz when I was two. From that moment on, I watched every Judy Garland movie I could find. I still can recall the first time I saw Judy Garland and Fred Astaire dancing and singing to classics like “We’re a Couple Swells”, “Drum Crazy”, and of course “Easter…

Homemade marzipan might cost a little to make, but with this recipe, you will get a huge amount of dough to work with for filling candies, covering a cake, or making figures. My family loves marzipan so much that I notice that the batch just keeps getting smaller and smaller because there are little sneaky hands taking lumps out of my batch before I can even make it into…
