I don't call mine a WASC because I don't add the almond. You can but for this cake I do not add it. This cake is pure white and has a wonderful flavor. You can add the almond if you like but I never do for this one.
2 White cake mixes. (I use Betty Crocker)
2 cups Flour
2 cups Sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
Put the above into the Kitchen Aide and let it run while you measure out the wet ingredients

I received my Cricut Cake machine yester day and I have yet to get one flower. I tried using the frosting sheet and they kept tearing. I waisted two sheets. Today I purchased rolled fondant and gumpast. I will try by making my own medium. Wish me luck.
Is anyone else having this problem, if so how did you correct it?

I hope all this is going to take is practice, practice, practice! The pro's make it look so easy. All you have to do is lay out some crisco, slap down some gum paste, feed the mat into the machine, bring the blade in a bit and 'BAM' you have a beautiful butterfly! RIGHT???
As of today I have wasted 2 sheets and I have 1 butterfly to show for it. I am going to be optimistic, after all I can't prove my husband right! He asked me last night when I wanted to toss the machine across the room… Continue

I have enjoyed decorating cakes for about 12 years now. I used to work in a restaurant who was interested in selling decorated cakes. They chose me to go to a cake decorating class, which I really enjoyed! I have since continued to bake and decorate cakes for family, friends, etc. I love it!!!! I also love to make my cakes original and different. I recently got to do my very first wedding cake!!!! What a joy. Makes me smile to see them happy with my cake ideas. I would… Continue

You've made a fabulous cake and now you want to share your photos, but your pictures may not be turning out as well as you'd like. You're not a professional photograhper and don't want to invest in an expensive camera or equipment so what can you do?
With a few small changes you can dramatically improve the quality of your cake photos! Some people will spend a small amount of money to create a little "photo studio" with some special lighting and back grounds but if you're a hobbiest… Continue

I just read somewhere that the Cricket Cake Personal Cutter will be offered on the HSN on April 14th at 12:01 a.m. EST. This is good news as you can break down the payments vs coming up with the money all at once!

Good Morning everyone! I have been lingering on here for the past week or so, but I haven't introduced myself yet, so I'll take the time now on this rainy Friday morning!
I am a stay at home mom of two little girls, Ashlyn, age 5, and
Makenna, who will be the big one on April 30th! They are my life! I also have a wonderful husband of almost 8 years. In my spare time, I like to travel, scrapbook, eat (lol), and now cakes!! :) We live in Northeast Ohio, it's a love/hate relationship. The… Continue

My name is Nadia, and I'm a 32-yr-old business owner in Ontario, Canada. I've just finished Course #1 (intro) of the Wilton Cake Decorating 4-course series, which was held at my local Michael's store. I decided to join the course because I was itching to do something artsy (my business is education-related) and have been watching way too much Cake Boss and Ultimate Cake Off! Since I'm one of those people who looks at stuff and immediately thinks that "I can do that!", I thought I'd put… Continue
