Poppy seeds gives the cake a little flavor like almonds, here we use it more for wedding cakes. But this customer loves poppy seeds.  :0)

That combo sounds yummy. I like poppy seeds. I haven't had a poppy seed cake in a long time. :o)

Thank you ladies for your lovely comments, it was a pleasure to make this cake, the customer didn´t tell me for what occasion he wanted it, so I thought this cake could be for any ocassion.  The vanilla cake with poppy seed and caramel filling was all he asked for!
