Thank you, Becky :o)
Yes Sandra, It's a good experience. Now you can enter many items for any exhibition but I cant.....it's very difficult to clean melted gum paste most of the time I throw it out and use new materials
Thank you, Inoka. I did this cake and entered the fair contest because I wanted the experience. It is unbelievable how much I learned during the process, so I am satisfied. Believe it or not, I am really excited to do a lot of these things (already making another big spray of orchids) again to see if I can do better this time :o) Right now, I am trying to disassemble the mess. I never realized that melted gum paste is very similar to concrete!
It's so sad Sandra......but you won the blue ribbon, that's the main thing...
hum ! I would save that iguana also , ! yes save any thing you can ! yup , it gets pricey to do this work !!
Probably the most costly blue ribbon ever, Katy LOL ! Thanks, sweet, Gali! I can reuse the stamens and pistils from the lilies and, believe it or not, they were very time consuming to make. Don't know why they didn't melt. The little iguana didn't completely melt, but he is thoroughly stick to the fondant!
just wish you could have saved some of your work , !!!
awesome , we knew it would win!!
heartbreaking. Hope you're going to frame that darn ribbon!
