Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

A Paris themed cake for my son's school PTA event. I'd love to say I modeled the Eiffel Tower out of fondant, but it's actually just a metal candle holder. This was my first attempt at a two-tiered cake, first spots, stripes and bow. First everything, really!

Hi, Arlene! Thanks for your lovely compliment. Yes, I made the bow a couple of days in advance. I have a video tutorial on YouTube if you want to have a look... search for 'satin fondant bow' and you'll find it. If you can, buy Wilton fondant. I find it's the best for making bows. Dries quickly and holds its shape.

Wow love the cake. Thought you had made the tower, it looks so good against the icing colours - the same kind of finish :)
