My son, Christopher & future daughter-in-law, Megan are having a rustic wedding come September, so I wanted to capture the same theme in her shower cake. There colours are pink & beige. Or should I say there Megan's colours, hee hee....cause they chose the wedding theme together, but my son said..Megan, you choose the colour scheme...after all, it's all about the bride, don't you know!! Dummy bottom has gumpaste branch less trees, coffee filter flowers, gumpaste rosettes and shawna flowers, from a tutorial by Corrie Cakes on FB. I made the cake board to try and resemble burlap. Cake is banana lemon with raspberry jam buttercream in the middle. I was still getting over time change from my trip to Poland this past Tuesday, so I cheated a little and used a couple of fabric roses instead of gumpaste as embellishments on the dress. Coffee filter flowers on the dress for some rustic whimsy.

Thanks Katy. Dress was baked in a stainless steel bowl. Used a large cupcake to plop on top to give the "dress" shape. I iced well with RI, but when i put in the bodice topper, it split at the back. Hence the added ruffles. Plan B. Thank goodness for embellishments. ..looks like you planned it all along! !
