mad hatter hat - 122F
Fondant covered cake with fondant flower rings, pearl bead centers. Hand sclupted copper hat pins from pieces of the Alice in Wonderland story. they are painted with gelpaste colors mixed with fondant. Hand painted (freehand) gumpaste hat tag. Scarf is fondant hand sculpted, colored with petal and luster dusts. The hat was sponge colored with Spout petal dust mixed with vodka.

This cake is so very expressive! It tells a great story with a small amout of items. Well done!! You know, I think it's the drapping on the hat band that makes the piece. When I cover that up it just doesn't have the right "feel" that is needed once the band is included. Charming!
