Comment by Katy Nott on October 19, 2012 at 1:39pm Thanks Clare - I've got one or two ideas in mind, not sure which I'll do yet. Just finished a cake for tomorrow and I'm a bit caked out lol!
Comment by CLARE WALSH on October 19, 2012 at 7:38am Hi Katy, I loved doing this cake! I baked a 10" square cake and roughly sketched a hairdryer shape on a sheet of cardboard and used it as a template to carve the cake.
the only tip I would have is to have a real hair dryer beside you as you do it - silly things I forgot like I had the plug lead going straight into the base of the hair dryer without having the connecting wider black bit on the base. No big deal but it just looked weird and took a bit of time to redo
Good luck with it, i hope you give it a go & I look forward to seeing the pics
Comment by Katy Nott on October 18, 2012 at 1:00pm mmm - interesting. I wanted to do something for my hairdresser who has just opened her own shop and I was toying with the idea of a hairdryer, but don't really know where to start. Got any tips how you did this Clare? Did you carve it?
