Thank you so much Becky!  Hope you have as much fun with it as I have.  And the GummyGel recipe is also good & easy to work with.  All the kids love it.  Did you want that too?

I use oil on a paper towel to clean the molds, since water is not a very good alternative here.  And you will get some staining from the darker colors, but not bad, and it does not transfer to the next mold, if it has been sprayed well before pouring, and again with the oil to clean it when done.  Also helps to keep the molds good & flexible much longer.

If I pour a batch of GummyGel into the mold without spraying it first, and the gel sticks beyond being usable, and this has happened to me, after removing as much of the gel as you can, just remelt the mold mix, and repour it over your object of choice.  This can be done easily BECAUSE both the gel & the mold mixes are both made out of the exact same ingredients!  So if a little of the gel is still stuck on the mold, it will not affect the mold when remelted.  They just blend right in together.

When remelting the mold mix, do it in 20 second intervals, 1 to 3 times is all that is needed.  If there are still lumps, just stir until they are gone, like you would with chocolate.  This will help to keep it from drying out too fast, and to stay more flexible longer.

More pics...

First batch, we forgot to spray the mold, and they did not release very well, but the definition is there, on both the top & the bottom.

Freshly poured into mold, bubbles are from the oil I sprayed on the mold so it would release better.

ALWAYS spray it, or it might stick!

Just about all of the finished colors..., the white & yellow are not showing here.

The GummyGel will outlast the molds because it is not as dense a material.  Both the mold, and the GummyGel, are done with the exact same edible ingredients, just in differing amounts.  The original GummyGel articles that I made still look & act like they were just done/made.

No, because it is FOOD, and not silicone.  Water will dissolve it, heat will melt it, and over time it tends to dry out & get hard, which is good for making molds, you get much better definition , but not so good for remelting them at this late a stage.  Other than the drying out some, I have seen no other side effect yet, time will tell.  That goes for being both in & out of the baggie, and in & out of the fridge.  Hope this answers your question?

That is awesome - does the mold last forever? Must give this a shot. Can't wait to see your Legos!
