for the main part of the bodies I used 1/2 of wilton's 6" sports ball pan. The heads are mini 1/2 balls that I carved. Then underneath is one layer of sheet cake carved a little larger than the body and tapered to a point in the back. Covered with marshmallow buttercream, and sugar that I tinted in the 4 colors. I had a little trouble getting the sugar to stick well at first, sprayed the cakes with a little water and it stuck beautifully. Unfortunately when I went to the store last min to get the little peeps to go around, they were all out of blue and purple :(
