Hi, Remona. It wasn't as tall as a double-tall, but it was 7" tall and 8" in diameter. It was 4 layers of cake, each about an inch and a half tall. It was to serve 30 so I basically made two cakes to serve 15 on top of eachother. They were separated with an 7" SPS plate to be on the safe side!

I used a Wilton/Arteco 104 tip for these ruffles. If you search for ruffle cake on YouTube you can find a video showing you how to do it.

Hello Lesley:  This is an awesome and beautiful cake.  When you refer to an extra-tall cake, can you tell me how many layers it took to make this cake?  Also did you use a ruffle tip to get this effect?

Thanks
