So...geeky cakes...guess it's time to start work on my showpiece cake for the 2011 That Takes The Cake! show in Austin at the end of February.  http://thattakesthecake.org/  Because the theme this year is Caked Crusaders!  That's right, all comic book geekery in sugar.  Ohhhh yeahhhhh....

Yeah, sculpting Jackman is hardly a chore.  Mind you there's lots of pressure to make sure he looks right!

Here's a Nintendo cake I did for my youngest brother ( a big NES buff) the other week. I also did a blog post if anyone is interested. Can't wait to see your show cake Kim (and still bummed I can't make it- perhaps next year)

Here's the blog link: http://ofcakesandcupcake.blogspot.com/2011/02/old-school-nintendo-c...

Geez...sorry for the giant picture! Guess I need to resize before posting. Anyway, this is an R2D2 cake that I did for a little boy who loved Star Wars. This was  a donation for our local elementary schools silent auction...hadn't ever done a 3D figure out of cake. I'll be attempting Darth Vadar for my nephew's 18th bday in April.

That's awesome!  No worries about the size!  I love seeing the details like that.  It's amazing!
