I've been asked to make a wedding cake to serve approximately 100 people. It may be a sheet cake or maybe a couple of tiers, but I can sure use some ideas or suggestions. It will be for late November.

The groom is a hunter. Since October is deer season here, he most definitely hunts for deer. At one time, I made a truck with a couple of men (hunters) tied up on the top of the truck and the deer were driving the truck. I thought I could possibly use something like this. The person ordering the cake left the decission up to me, but I thought something with tiers would be more appropriate, and they requested something with a hunting theme.

Good suggestions here. But I agree with what Jane said. What does the bride like?? Is she also a eager hunter?
If the bride is on board, I like the 2nd cake posted by Neryl. The deer antlers on the top tier with the bride & groom.

Thank you Jane for your reply, I really like the idea about the stag head with weddings rings and garter on the antlers.

Permalink Reply by Rosalie on September 25, 2012 at 8:41pm Thank you Neryl for all the great ideas. I think I will try one of those with the hunting couple on top and the greenery dipicting the wooded hunting area. I have enough time to make the figures and have them dry by then. Thanks again. Im so grateful for all of the talented people on this website.
