I've been having a problem with my KA artison mixer.  When I try to mix something, everything flies out of the bowl all over the place!  I use the lowest speed.  Could it be a problem with the beater?  Has anyone ever had this problem?  Thanks for any help.

Louise, has your KA always done this or is it a new development?  I tend to poof powdered sugar all over everything when making fondant or gum paste.

It's a natural phenom with my KA, stuff flies out when I add liquid or dry, even at low speed, unless I use my cover. That's my savior....little piece of plastic, but it does the job. Stops the flying mess.

This is a new problem, it's never done this before.  I tried using the shield, and it still blows out all over. I've determined it isn't the beater, I borrowed one from my MIL and tried it and had the same problem.  I think it may be a gear. There are replacement gears I've found, but trying to determine which one is the issue.

Ok....then I'm stumped. Usually the shield should work. I'd call a authorized KA repair dealer and pick there brains. Even email KA consumer information...

Well, I am stumped, too, Louise.  Sorry :o(

Thanks everyone, I'll let you know if I solve it and how.
