I use a variation of the WASC recipe. Start with a yellow or vanilla mix, leave out the almond flavoring, add lots of vanilla extract and you can even add a vanilla bean so you can see those little specs in the cake!
HI! I really love this one, it has a great texture, flavor, smells like heaven and has the perfect humidity. Hope it can help!

Vanilla Cake (10 to 12 Slides cake)

Ingrediets

300 gr Butter with out salt
300gr With Sugar
300 gr All porpouse flour
6 Egg yolks
4 Eggs
1/4 teaspoon of salt (it helps flavor goes higher)
1 1/2 Teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cdta Baking powder
1/2 lata Evaporated milk (Carnation)

Prehat the oven to 180 C

Cream the butter and then add the sugar until smood, add the yolks one by one, then the eggs one by one, the flour already sift with the baking powder and finally the milk.

The consistency youre looking is like a pudding, pour it ìn a pan and with a knife spread it in a zig zag form, this helps the batter spreads well in all pan.

Bake from 30 to 45 minutes, you can see the top in a soft beautiful gold color.

Enjoy it!
Gaby,
This sounds perfect
Thank you

I've tried Wilton's white cupcake, tulip, vanilla, etc., and they are excellent.
"lata" means can (half a can of....), but I can't figure out what "cdta" means.....I'd like to try this recipe, but I don't have a kitchen scale. :(
I know, it sounds like a really good recipe if I could just figure out the conversion...thanx for the definition of lata
Hi again, SORRRY!! I'm Mexican and sometimes I'did not realize when I' m writing in spanglish, beg you pardon. Here I go ...

300 grams of butter = 10.6 oz
300 grams white sugar = 1 2/3 cups
300 grams all porpouse flour = 2 cups (sifted)
cdta- cucharadita= Teaspoon
cda-cucharada= Tablesponn

hope this Spanish class can help =) enjoy it
Thanks Gaby. (I'm smiling thinking about a friend of mine, she does the same thing.....I just look at her with a lost expression--LOL)
Gaby,
thank you so much for the conversions. One last lesson for the day please. 180C oven is that 350 degrees farenheit? Again thank you for the recipe, I am going to try it this weekend
Regards
Ü 180C = 360

My cake is disgusting and it wouldn't wow a starving dog. Thanks for asking though
