Permalink Reply by yvonne murphy on January 25, 2010 at 9:16pm Hi Yvonne,
I have had good luck with this recipe:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup salted butter
2 8oz packages of cream cheese
2lbs Powdered Sugar
1t Vanilla
1/4t Salt
Blend shortening, butter & cream cheese well. Add powdered sugar a cup at at time on slow, then add vanilla & salt. Kick up the speed and beat well for 7-10 minutes or until all the sugar is incorporated.
Hope that helps.
Lisa

Permalink Reply by Lisa Seiple on January 31, 2010 at 8:44am This is a GREAT CREAM CHEESE ICING!!!!!! The icing took the trip with no problem, The cake came out wonderful. The icing was awsome tasting!!! It is now one of my few favorites. I love to make cakes but I'm not to much of a cake eater. But I loved this recipe so much, I made a batch for myself (and my family LOL) Thank you so much Lisa Seiple. Oh by the way, nothing fell off the cake during the trip. Cream cheese with grip LOL.

Permalink Reply by yvonne murphy on May 18, 2010 at 12:22pm Do you think this icing would be good on a marble cake? I don't like the taste of butter cream so I'm trying to find something else to work with...
